Welcome...

We are a community of faith seeking to live out the radical good news of Jesus.

We open up our land, buildings and resources in the heart of town with the hope of creating a ‘meeting place’ for people of diverse backgrounds.

Despite some of the news headlines about our town we believe that everyone has a gift and that we are placed in the heart of Alice Springs to be:

  • A welcoming sanctuary for travellers;
  • A reconciling community
  • A people caring for others;

In the name of Christ.

We meet on Sundays @ 9.30am.

Join us every Sunday for our weekly intergenerational 9:30am service.

There is a program for kids and our community and visitors gather together for morning tea afterwards.

About Us

Rev. Emily Hayes

The Alice Springs Uniting Church worships on the lands of the Arrernte people, the lands they call Mparntwe. Through this land God has nurtured and sustained them for some 50,000 years.

We are located in the heart of town in the John Flynn Memorial Church building. Grateful to those who went before us, we seek the Kingdom of God in this time and place.

We are a proudly intergenerational, multicultural and affirming church. We have Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples and languages sharing in ministry together. We are a safe church for all no matter their age, race, gender sexuality or where they are in life or faith.

We value the deep stillness of the land in which we live. We allow the creation and the community of which we are a part to shape our discipleship.

Justice, sustainability, reconciliation, and equality are key expressions of the holistic faith we seek to nurture in each other, and in the wider community which we serve.

Sorry Rex and I can’t be with you to celebrate the life of a beautiful man. Much love to Margaret, Heather and family. Farewell , dear David , you have lived a lifetime of giving , caring and kindness. X

Praise God from whom all blessing flow 🙏

We love you Dave, Margaret, and Heather. A beautiful service. Dave... we will meet again.

Prayers for Margaret, Heather, Steve and grandchildren. Amen - Steve and Surleen x 🙏

Beautiful man

The inspirational and beautiful man I have the honour to call 'friend' - including his beautiful wife, Margaret. X

Thanks for sharing the service. Love to all and we join you in giving thanks for David’s remarkable life.

David's life is an inspiration, 'to make every day count'. Thankyou to Margaret , Heather and all the family and friends who have shared so generously with us today. To God be the glory!

Is this for David Hewitt's funeral, as it's hard to tell just by the photo, especially as l'm not in Alice at the moment.

Many people have lost a strong advocate, a voice and pen that stood up for those who were voiceless. Thank God for his faith in action. Thankyou to Benj and the church for sharing this service with us throughout our country and beyond.

Here is a better quality version of Edith's baptism last Sunday. Unfortunately the first few minutes of video are low quality but it improves dramatically! ... See MoreSee Less
